This role is all about making sure contracts are delivered to a high standard - on time, on budget, and done right.

As a Contract Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the management and administration of multiple civil construction and road maintenance contracts. You’ll work closely with the Principals and internal teams to ensure works are planned, executed, and completed in line with contract requirements, agreed programmes, and required technical specifications.

Contracts will predominantly be road maintenance contracts but will also include a range of non-roading related contracts. As a Contract Engineer, you will help manage the procurement of these contracts from pricing through to delivery and close-out.

You’ll also be involved in monitoring works on site, managing contract claims and variations, and ensuring reporting and contract documentation accurately reflect work delivered. A sound technical understanding is essential to ensure works are completed in accordance with the specified standards and requirements. This is a hands-on role that requires strong commercial awareness, good communication, and a clear understanding of how work on the ground translates into contract performance.

  • Proven experience working on road maintenance contracts
  • A Class 1 drivers license
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Principals, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Strong computer skills, including a high level of competency in Excel

  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
  • A good understanding of Health and Safety
  • Familiarity with NZGTTM
