About the Job

We are looking for a skilled general/heavy fabricator to join our maintenance team. You will play a senior role in our engineering workshop designing, manufacturing and repairing steelwork on new and existing plant and equipment along with other ad-hoc projects.

As a senior general/heavy fabricator, you will be working on earthmoving equipment both in the workshop and field. You will play a key role in our 'Done Right' approach to maintaining safe and fit for purpose fleet through quality fabrication.

Fabrication projects will include (but are not limited to) designing, building and repairing tip truck and trailer decks, excavator buckets and attachments, and general maintenance and upkeep on machinery.

Our fabricators work very closely with our mechanical maintenance team. As a senior fabricator, you will also be responsible for training and supporting our junior fabricator currently undergoing his general engineering apprenticeship.

Understanding and having experience in the earthmoving industry will help ensure you deliver the right outcome the first time round.

Skills You Will Need

  • A certificate, diploma or any other recognised industry qualifications in fabrication
  • Skilled in Stick, MIG and TIG welding
  • Skilled in Brazing, Soldering, Gas Plant, Arc Airing, and Carbon Gauging
  • Ability to apply skills in the field using minimal equipment
  • Experience in the earthmoving industry
  • Minimum class 1 drivers licence
  • Self-motivation and be able to work unsupervised
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and complete a job to a high standard
  • A good attitude towards Health and Safety
