Background

The new Smithfield subdivision will feature 59 lots ranging in size from 401 square meters up to 596 square meters. Tarbotton Land & Civil was awarded the contract for the subdivision and will be working alongside Capture Land Development Consultants and TerraForma Geotechnical.

The Tarbotton team are responsible for the delivery of this subdivision which includes:

  • Erosion and sediment control by installing silt fences, a stabilised entranceway, temporary soakpits, and a contour drain.
  • The removal of fences, trees, and existing buildings and structures from the development area to ensure site clearance.
  • Bulk earthworks including cut to fill 11,800m3 of topsoil using CAT 862B Scrapers with machine control GPS over 4 hectares.
  • The removal of existing culverts and installation of upgraded culverts and new headwalls in the Wakanui Creek.
  • Bank stabilisation on both sides of the Wakanui Creek with geotextiles and vegetation.
  • Three Waters management including trenching and installation of the water reticulation system, stormwater and wastewater systems.
  • Construction of a new stormwater retention pond.
  • Trenching and installing power and data utilities.
  • 890 meters of asphalt roading.
  • The installation of 1,432 meters of kerb and channel and 735m2 of asphalt footpaths.
  • Final landscaping and installation of fencing and signage.
